Rinse and repeat for the forecast on Monday! Southeasterly flow has brought in afternoon cloud cover through the weekend, and that will again be the case to start the week.
We'll enjoy periods of sunshine and periods with more clouds through the day. It's another mild start to the morning with low temperatures near 60° - very similar to the last few mornings. You may still need a light sweater in some locations, but we'll warm up quickly once the sun rises.
Highs will warm into the upper 70s and low 80s. Another beautiful afternoon!
A strong storm is moving eastward in the coming days, arriving in north Georgia by Tuesday. This system has spawned severe weather and tornadoes across Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Nebraska, but it will be weakening by the time it arrives in our area.
We are not currently included in the Storm Prediction Center's severe weather threat. Isolated storms may still be capable of producing heavy rain, lightning, and gusty winds, but storms are expected to stay below severe criteria.
Cloud cover builds in Monday night. A few isolated showers will be possible in the morning, but most of the rain holds off until closer to lunchtime.
Rain continues on and off through Tuesday afternoon. Rain chances are 40%, so many will stay dry.
We clear out quickly behind the cold front, and sunshine returns for Wednesday. Temperatures soar for the middle of the week. Highs will climb to the mid to upper 80s Wednesday and Thursday.
A small temperature drop is expected on Friday as rain chances return to the forecast. You'll be thankful for the drop in temps because humidity will be summer-like by the end of the week.
